I just finished reading Steig Larsson‘s trilogy: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest. I can see why these books are popular and that movies have been made and are in the making. The characters are multidimensional and unique and the entire story is revealed slowly, like peeling the layers of an onion, throughout the books.  Basically you’ve got a quirky computer savvy girl mixed up with an investigative reporter who together become the super-duo of HUGE conspiracy undercover mystery solving. The first book can really stand alone – but the second and third are intricately tied together. In fact, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest starts off right where The Girl Who Played With Fire Ended. I don’t know how you’d read the last book without reading the first two… you’d just have a ton of questions. While there are some gory parts, and the characters are as much unlikable as interesting, I recommend giving this series a try. They’re the kind of books you want to stay up late reading to find out what happens next…

  1. I still haven’t read these, and I feel like the only one, but you have intrigued me, so we’ll see.
